Sometimes, the hardest part of running a business is simply getting new customers through your door. If your premises look like every other business in the surrounding area, you're certainly not encouraging that passing traffic to stop by. One way of drawing the eye, and hopefully drawing custom too, is to use bright colours. Many businesses do this with their signage—but if every store in your area has a bright sign, none of them will stand out. Instead, consider letting that colour spread to the floor with coloured asphalt.
Versatility
Asphalt is suitable for driveways, parking lots and pathways—so no matter which outside area of your business is being refitted, you can find a way to slot a colourful section into it. Its durability makes it suitable for both light and heavy use, and for both pedestrians and vehicles. Either way, it won't require much maintenance.
Perfect Colours
Asphalt can be coloured with a wide variety of dyes, so chances are that you can find it in your dominant brand colour for a nice, cohesive look. If you have two or three colours in your branding, you could consider replicating that in the asphalt; it's entirely possible to make simple stripe patterns and shapes out of different colours.
Sealed In
Many asphalts are coloured with dyes that double up as sealants, meaning that coloured asphalt is as protected and waterproof as any other kind. In other words, you don't need to sacrifice any functionality or durability for this eye-catching look—and the colours won't run and make a mess, either.
Porous Options
If you'll be washing cars on the asphalt or will need to wash it down frequently, then you may prefer a porous asphalt instead. This allows water to drain through it rather than sealing tightly against it and therefore prevents flooding or excess water. Luckily, having a dye added to the asphalt does not remove this as an option; it's perfectly possible to find porous coloured asphalts if that's what you require.
Of course, no simple change like this can make over an entire business, and you're unlikely to see floods of customers drawn by the asphalt alone—but it's important not to underestimate the value of making your business look and feel different to others in the surrounding area. Standing out is half the battle. Once they step over that asphalt and through the door, it's still up to your excellent offerings and customer service to hold their attention.
